We’ve filmed a NEW Virtual Lesson for children to watch and help them get involved in #GetInTouch
Last week we launched our virtual lessons and it’s been great to see lots of people have viewed them. Please see below for links to next week’s lessons. The lessons can be accessed by schools who are open for keyworkers' children and vulnerable children and can also be used for children at home. If you have any feedback on the virtual lessons, we’d love to hear from you.
These lessons are designed to increase resilience, self-esteem and teamwork.
These lessons aim to stimulate literacy engagement in children who love football.
These lessons will provide simple to follow PE activities to enjoy together to enable children to continue to develop their skills. You don’t need to be in PE kit or have lots of equipment as we’ve adapted the activities.
These lessons use physical activity to engage and motivate pupils around key numeracy skills
These sessions will encourage children to be physically activity with a different sport theme each week. All activities have been developed so everyone can have a go using equipment found in the home and in whatever space you have available.
Joy of Moving Home School Festivals - Next Week!
Derby County Community Trust are working in partnership with the EFL Trust to deliver a national initiative called the Joy of Moving Home School Festival. This initiative will keep thousands of children in England active during the week commencing Monday 18th May.
The Festival consists of a half day (afternoon) timetable of activities for children to take part in, these activities are designed to inspire active lifestyles in children; everything you need will be available in a digital pack that you can send to parents either by email or by post.
We are aiming to involve as many schools and children as possible throughout Derbyshire during this event, to get involved in the Joy of Moving Home School Festivals all we need is for you to agree to take part and to pass the resources we give you on to the pupils at your school via your current communication routes - if you have children still attending school they can join in the fun too!
If you are interested in your pupils taking part in this brilliant initiative please firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest and receive your digital pack.
School Games #StayInWorkout
We’re working in partnership with Active Derbyshire and Derbyshire Active Schools Network to create and publish a weekly programme of activities to help schools to support parents and carers to maintain an active routine for children and young people whilst at home or when socially distancing in essential care.
Every week we are running a competition linked to the resources. Children are asked to enter to earn points for their school, be entered into a prize draw and get a downloadable certificate. Link to enter: https://www.activederbyshire.org.uk/forms/view/sgvc
If you have any feedback on the resources we would love to hear from you.
