Introduction
 
At Hardwick Primary School we recognise that the personal development of pupils, spiritually, morally, socially, and culturally (SMSC), plays a significant part in their ability to learn and achieve. We strongly believe that effective SMSC provision has a direct impact on standards and wider outcomes for our children. We aim to provide an education that provides pupils with opportunities to explore and develop their own values and beliefs, spiritual awareness, high standards of personal behaviour and a positive, caring attitude towards others. We aim to help them achieve an understanding of social and cultural traditions and an appreciation of the diversity and richness of their cultures. We seek to provide a culture in each classroom where children can learn effectively, thrive, and develop high self-esteem.
 
We have completed a detailed provision map identifying where in the school curriculum helps pupils gain access to structured SMSC provision and learning opportunities.
