Global Learning at Hardwick

What is Global Learning?

An approach to learning about international development through recognising the importance of linking people’s lives throughout the world.

It encourages critical examination of global issues and an awareness of the impact that individuals can have on them.

What are the Sustainable Development Global goals?

The members of the UN launched these in 2015; these aim to finish the job of the previous Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) set in 2000, towards which enormous progress was made. Through the development of these goals, the world well become a better place for all.

Throughout the school calendar, we have special focus weeks where the whole school deepens their understanding and knowledge of a theme.  For example, in October, we celebrate Black History month and in November, we have an ‘Our World Fortnight.’

During these weeks, we held a special parents afternoon, where the work from all year groups was on display in the hall for all children and parents to see. In addition, a group of pupils from each year group became the experts for their year’s exhibits and presented their work to peers and visitors.
